ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

White Cap Industries Inc.: The Costa Mesa retailer of specialty tools and materials for professional contractors posted second-quarter net income of $4 million, or 36 cents a share, 18% higher than the $3.4 million, or 31 cents a share, recorded a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended Sept. 25 increased 7% to $85.3 million.
