Host of Topics, Issues on Tap at UCI’s Annual Diversity Fair

The sixth annual Religious Diversity Faire at UC Irvine will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Student Center. “Roots and Visions” is the theme of this year’s session, which will feature workshops and panels exploring almost two dozen faiths from all over the world.

Bob Abernethy, host of the PBS television series “Religion and Ethics NewsWeekly,” will deliver a talk at 5 p.m. titled “The Implications of Religious Diversity.”

Panel discussions will be held on interfaith dialogues, reincarnation, Sikh philosophy, international religious freedom, interfaith ministry, Native American traditions, African-American worship, the Unitarian Universalist faith, the future of Buddhism, mysticism, Roman Catholicism, modern prophets, and labyrinths.

Other program highlights include a 3:30 p.m. performance by a Native American women’s choral group.
