Budget Car Rental Auction on the Move

Budget Rent A Car Corp., which in June claimed to be the first car rental company to offer its own online bidding, plans to drive its BidBudget auction off its own Web site and onto Priceline.com’s Web site. A Budget spokeswoman said that hits to the site “have more than met our expectations” but that Budget wants to take advantage of Priceline’s advertising and marketing powers. Priceline, which offers online bidding for airline tickets and a host of other products, plans to add car rentals by the end of the year. Budget recently changed its Web site to https: //www.budget.com.
