Xircom in Thousand Oaks has expanded the availability of its computer-access products in Latin America, signing distribution agreements with Tech Data Chile and Incotel in Uruguay.

“Chile is a technologically sophisticated market that demands innovative solutions,” said Kenneth Echaiz, product manager for Tech Data Chile’s import division. “That’s why we are pleased to partner with Xircom. They are the leader in mobile information access solutions that allow end-users to connect to the information and people they need, when and where they need to.”

The new, in-country distribution agreements cover Xircom’s complete line, including RealPort Integrated PC Card for notebooks, CompactCard products for hand-held devices and the PortStation Port Expansion System.

With distributors already in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, and Miami-based exporters covering the rest of Latin America, the expansion is part of Xircom’s continued growth in Latin America.

“Xircom’s extensive marketing and training support for our staff and our network of resellers lets us better support their products,” said Gustavo Crecio, president of Incotel in Uruguay.

Xircom designs products that connect personal-computer users to corporate networks, the Internet, intranets and other online resources.
