“State Unveils Draft of Ballot for Primary” (Nov. 9) suggests Warren Beatty lobbied for a spot on the ballot and that his aide (William Bradley) is putting a misleading spin on the effort. The basis of this conclusion is that the Beatty “camp” bombarded the office with phone calls, faxes and a compendium of news clippings.
Quite possibly, such contact did not come from the Beatty camp at all, but from those of us who are seeking to draft him as a candidate without his assistance or blessing. There are a number of people promoting a Beatty candidacy who have nothing whatsoever to do with the “Beatty camp.” I know, because I am one of them--and I maintain a “Draft Warren Beatty” Web page.
