Job-Seeking Workshop

Dress-4-Success Inc. will hold a free career workshop today for men and women who want to reenter the job market.

Participants will be given interviewing techniques and tips on how to look their best, said Janet Lavender, the nonprofit group’s executive director. A motivational speaker will also address the group.

Dress-4-Success provides job seekers with proper attire for interviews. Clients range from the homeless to welfare recipients moving into the job market. The organization has served more than 5,000 clients since it was founded in 1996, Lavender said.

“It’s geared for people either looking to get a job or who already have a job but maybe want a better job,” Lavender said. “We want to be able to help people to develop job interviewing skills, so they can build confidence and self-esteem.”

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sydney Irmas Transitional Living Center, 7817 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood.
