Nordhoff 36, Santa Clara 17--Jessie Hawkins rushed 13 times for 170 yards and three touchdowns at Channel Islands High to help the Rangers (8-2, 4-0) win their sixth league title in the ‘90s.

Hawkins’ first touchdown run covered 45 yards just over four minutes into the game and he followed with scoring runs of 28 and five yards as Nordhoff took a 21-0 halftime lead.

John Hill’s 36-yard touchdown pass to Scott Drew capped the Rangers’ opening drive of the second half, and William Felkins’ two-yard run early in the fourth quarter gave the Rangers a 36-0 lead.

Danny Chaparro scored two touchdowns in the final four minutes for the Saints (3-7, 1-3).
