* Lowe Enterprises acquired Tri-Center Plaza, a 141,732-square-foot office building at 5990 Sepulveda Blvd. in Van Nuys, for $21.7 million from Cornerstone Properties Inc., a real estate investment trust. Both the buyer and the seller were represented by Steve Algermissen, Richard Plummer, Stephen Somer and Bill Ripberger of Cushman & Wakefield.

* Vons Cos. signed a five-year, $8-million lease for 450,000 square feet of warehouse space at 13060 Temple Ave. in Industry. William Renwick and Tom Taylor of Seeley Co. represented both Vons and the landlord, Intex Corp. of Long Beach.

* A Beverly Hills partnership led by Sonny and Shane Astani bought the 149-unit Lennox Lanai Apartments at 7055 Lennox Ave. in Van Nuys for $5.8 million from Milton Sidley and Arthur Winthrop of Los Angeles. Dean Zander of Hendricks & Partners represented both the buyer and the seller.

* Highland Plastics, a Pasadena-based food container manufacturer, acquired for $1.2 million a seven-acre parcel at Mira Loma Commercial Center in Mira Loma. It will be the site of a 146,000-square-foot, $7.3-million building that will consolidate the company’s Pasadena and Baldwin Park manufacturing facilities. The new building will be developed by Obayashi Corp., with Oltmans Construction Co. of Whittier as contractor. Robert Dixon of John Alle Co. represented Highland in the land purchase. The seller, Obayashi, was represented by Frank Geraci of CB Richard Ellis.
