Children’s Day

Share

* I have been campaigning for a national children’s day as a national holiday since I sent an electronic memo to President Clinton on April 30.

Although I fully support House and Senate resolutions that proclaim a national children’s memorial day as a day of remembrance, it was my hope and intention to celebrate the lives of children, their future in our society, their unlimited possibilities as free Americans. National Children’s Day seeks to be a reminder to our society that they are the most important part of the American family, as children are America’s future in every conceivable aspect.

The enduring gift of recognition for our children comes not by memory of death but in celebration of children’s lives, their future.
