Gang Injunctions

Re “Hahn Seeks Court Order to Curb 2 Gangs,” Nov. 16: It is amazing how much someone will grandstand to show how innovative he can be in an effort to get elected. Let me see if I got this straight. Los Angeles City Atty. James Hahn will get a judge and they are going to be proactive and restrict the criminal activities of gangs by getting an injunction and ordering them to stop.

Wow! Maybe we should write some more of those kinds of rules and put them in a book. Maybe call it “The Penal Code.” Maybe police officers can enforce those rules. Maybe, if a violator is caught, he/she can be arrested. Possibly a city attorney can prosecute. Then a jury can decide guilty or not guilty. If guilty, maybe have a judge pass sentence and put someone in jail.

Nah, that’ll never work. Let’s go to court and start the injunction.
