Trade With China
Re “China Trade Pact to Widen Access for U.S. Firms,” Nov. 16: How wonderful it is that we should open our trade barriers up to China! WTO, here they come. It is equally wonderful that we “pressure Cuba to open itself up to democracy.” We should certainly continue all economic sanctions because of blatant human rights abuses in China, er, I mean in Cuba.

Your Nov. 16 editorial, “A Trade Leap for China,” says, “China will have to open its doors to foreign banks, phone companies, lawyers, accountants and transport companies.” I don’t know about the rest of it but they sure can take the lawyers.
