Re “S.F. Can’t Put On the Ritz for Millennium,” Nov. 15: Hooray for San Francisco. Their concern for the safety of the citizens of San Francisco came first in not lighting the Golden Gate Bridge on New Year’s Eve. Too bad our city fathers, who insist on lighting the Hollywood sign on New Year’s Eve, have shown such little concern for the safety of the residents who live near the sign. I always knew San Francisco was a class city.
