* Re Michael Ramirez’s Nov. 21 cartoon caption, “I know. Let’s blame the United States . . .”: Making a political statement out of an air disaster is extremely distasteful. As a frequent flyer I do not care about flyer miles but simply the well-being of my fellow passengers, the crew and myself. As we are aware, there’s a host of extremely distressed family and friends on both sides of the Atlantic.

* So suicide is against Islamic law and is considered to be unthinkable for a Muslim (letter, Nov. 22). Tell that to the hundred of victims of suicide bombers in Israel and elsewhere. Were the bombers condemned as sinners or does the end justify the means?
