Here’s some “plane advice” for coping with those uncomfortable plane seats (“Plane Advice for Making Seats More Comfortable,” Healthy Traveler, Nov. 14): Take some Thera-Bands along with you.

Thera-Bands, sold by pharmacies, are stretchable bands that can be used to stretch and strengthen your muscles. As a frequent flier who suffers from shoulder and back discomfort, I have found them to be a godsend. They take up no plane space. Just slip them into your pocket or computer case and use when necessary.
