Litton Ship Unit President Named

* Litton Industries, the Woodland Hills-based defense contractor, has named Thomas M. Kitchen president of Avondale Industries, the New Orleans-based shipbuilder that Litton acquired for about $530 million in August. Kitchen will succeed Albert Bossier, 67, who is retiring after 42 years with Avondale. Kitchen joined Avondale in 1977 as an assistant controller. He has advanced through a series of assignments, culminating in his current duties as vice president and chief financial officer. Avondale is a part of the Litton Ship Systems division, which also includes its Ingalls Shipbuilding unit.

PayMyBills.com, a Pasadena-based personal bill-management service, has appointed Bob Whyte chief technology officer. Whyte previously served as chief information officer of DirecTV, a division of Hughes Electronics.

La Canada Design Group, a Pasadena-based architecture firm, has named three new associates: Manoucher Eslami; Robert K. Lawson and Douglas G. Roberts. The firm also named Forrest Bailey director of construction.
