Media Metrix Inc., which tracks the popularity of Web sites, agreed Wednesday to buy closely held AdRelevance Inc. for as much as $65.7 million in stock. Media Metrix, which enables clients to measure Internet usage, said it will pay $59.4 million and may issue additional Media Metrix shares valued at about $6.3 million if AdRelevance meets unspecified post-closing goals. AdRelevance software, which combs more than 2,000 sites daily and 40 million Web pages monthly, tracks online ad spending, placement and other information.
