Litronic Software Update Boosts Stock

Shares of Litronic Inc. rocketed as much as 44% on Friday after the Irvine outfit unveiled its newest version of Profile Manager, a security software program that allows authorized users access to certain information via smart cards. The company made a presentation at the invitation-only Microsoft Smart Card ’99 Business Development Conference in Redmond, Wash. “That’s the only news,” said Chief Financial Officer Tom Seykora. This latest version of its program, which became available Thursday, is compatible with the upcoming Windows for Smart Cards, the company said. The stock surged to $6.75 during the session before closing at $6.13, up $1.44, or 30.7%.
