Re “MCI WorldCom to Buy Sprint for $100 Billion,” Oct. 5: In my younger days our government passed laws that said cartels and monopolies were illegal. What happened to the Justice Department? Who is in charge to prevent these large companies from getting larger? As soon as they merge, their prices go up, and many employees are soon looking for other jobs.
