Conexant Launches Line of Audio Software

Share

Conexant Systems Inc., the Newport Beach-based chip maker, on Wednesday launched an expanded and upgraded line of audio software products designed to enhance a person’s ability to listen to music via the computer.

The Conexant Player line, based on the company’s patented EndlessWave technology, works with some of the company’s telephone modem chips set. Traditionally, Conexant develops chips that let modem makers use software to add new features to the modem without forcing customers to swap out the old chip or buy a new modem.

The Player software works to boost the sound of digital music files and the soundtracks of PC games, and includes a music editor that allows people to manipulate audio files. The software is being shipped to modem manufacturers now, said company officials. Consumers can go to Conexant’s Web site, https://www.conexant.com, to download the software and upgrade their modems directly.
