Thousands suing American Home Products Corp. for injuries they allege they suffered while taking the now-banned diet drugs Redux or Pondimin will not participate in a proposed $3.75-billion settlement, lawyers say. Lawyers representing more than 8,000 plaintiffs say the settlement terms are inadequate. American Home said it had been sued by 11,000 plaintiffs, but others dispute that figure.
