* St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church will present “Catch the Heart of Mission” at 5 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Hisham Kamal of the Arabic Evangelical Church in Temple City and Rev. Soubhi Owida of Ismalia Evangelical Church will report on their summer mission trip to Egypt. The event will also feature music and drama as it was shared in Egypt, personal reflections and words from the church’s Egyptian partners. A freewill offering will be taken. * Soka Gakki International-USA will present “The Winning Life: An Introduction to Buddhism” at 10 a.m. Sunday. Participants will obtain advice on courage, relationships, health, success and prosperity. There will also be a focus on facing problems. The event takes place twice monthly. Soka Gakki is at 1500 E. * The Welcome Committee of St. Irenaeus Church Evangelization Task Force and the Outreach to the Poor, Homeless and Needy Task Force will co-sponsor a “Welcome-Outreach Weekend” during all masses this weekend. Masses take place at 5 p.m. Saturday and at 6:30, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 12:30, 5 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday. There will be a parish picnic with games and other activities from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. * Presbyterian Church of the Master will offer its series “Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory: a Journey Into the Evangelical Subculture in America” at 9 a.m. Sundays through Nov. 21. * The Alchemy Handbell Choir from Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Woodland Hills and St. Clement’s handbell choir will be in concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Clement’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. Alchemy Handbell choir director Boude Moore has been with the Woodland Hills church since 1988. St. Clement’s choir will be led by Susan Parr. A freewill offering will be taken. * St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will host a traditional Evensong concert at 5 p.m. and a piano concert at 6 p.m. The Evensong will observe the Anglican tradition for solemn evening worship with choral music performed by the Chancel Choir.
