Daniel Thomas Named Corbin & Wertz Audit Partner

* Daniel L. Thomas has been named an audit partner at Corbin & Wertz in Irvine. Thomas began his accounting career with Price Waterhouse and then moved to KPMG Peat Marwick. He has been a partner with Moss Adams and most recently with Scott Bankhead & Co. Thomas has also been chief financial officer and director of finance and administration for a variety of privately held companies.
* David M. Fields has been appointed to the board of directors of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. Fields is vice president and general counsel for the Irvine Retail Properties Co., a division of the Irvine Co. in Newport Beach.
* Cliff Suruki has joined McKennon, Wilson & Morgan LLP, an Irvine accounting firm, as an audit manager in the SEC Audit and Accounting Services department. He had been with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Andy Dixon, formerly of Deloitte & Touche LLP in Costa Mesa, is now a tax manager in McKennon, Wilson & Morgan’s National Tax group.
* Greg Bradbard has been named executive director for the Irvine Public Schools Foundation. He was previously director of development for Families Forward in Irvine.
* David Beddow has joined the board of directors of Universal Electronics Inc. in Cypress. He is vice president of technology for AT&T;’s Liberty Media Corp.
* Kevin Lang is the new director of data systems at Vantage in Newport Beach. He was formerly with Cendant Corp. in Costa Mesa. Lang was also database administrator for Family Health Plan Inc. in Costa Mesa and database administrator for the electronic marketing division of Wyle Data Services in Huntington Beach.
* Ralph D. Schiavone has been appointed branch manager of the Orange office of American Loan Centers. He previously held senior branch management positions with United Companies Lending in Orange and United PanAm Mortgage Corp. of Seattle.
* Tom Lennon and Debra Sands have joined Carlile/Coatsworth/Shankweiler Architects Inc. as project architects. Lennon was previously with Dennis Flynn Architects in Yorba Linda and was principal of his own architectural firm in Fullerton from 1986-96. Sands has been affiliated with Fields and Devereaux Inc., Hill-Pinckert Architects Inc., the McMahon Partnership, Thomas Walker Architect, Lee & Strock Architects, Brandow & Johnston and Dana West.
* Brad Leggett has been elected president for 1999-2000 of the Assn. for Corporate Growth, Orange County chapter. He succeeds Ralph Rodheim, president of Rodheim Marketing Group in Costa Mesa. Leggett is executive vice president of Products 2 Market.
