The Seychelles are a group of islands about 1,000 miles off the coast of Kenya. There’s a series of beaches that are absolutely the most visually dramatic in the world, with these huge boulders that almost look like Henry Moore sculptures. There’s also internal jungles to poke around in. In Tahiti, you feel like a tourist. In the Seychelles, you feel like an explorer.

DISCOVERY: You can fly directly to the main island from Rome, but the best way to see the Seychelles is by boat because you go to the places no one else can get to. The islands I recommend visiting are La Digue, Praslin and Mahe. When I was there, they discovered buried treasure in the sea.
