* Univision Communications Inc.’s third-quarter profit more than quadrupled, beating estimates, as advertisers increased spending to reach viewers of the largest Spanish-language television network in the U.S. Net income rose to $22.4 million, or 19 cents a share, from $5 million, or 4 cents, a year earlier. The Los Angeles-based company was expected to earn 15 cents a share. Revenue rose 28% to $177.3 million from $138.9 million.
* Los Angeles-based Imperial Bancorp, parent of Imperial Bank, reported third-quarter net income of $14.9 million, including an after-tax loss, or 35 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $3.1 million, or 7 cents, a year ago. Net interest income increased to $68.4 million from $65.0 million.
* Chatsworth-based Natrol Inc., which makes its own brand of dietary supplements, reported third-quarter net income of $2.5 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with $2.5 million, or 19 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose to $21.2 million from $19.5 million.
