Disneys to Be Honored as CalArts Turns 30

CalArts will celebrate its 30th year as a college with a gala black tie dinner Monday night at the Regent Beverly Wilshire hotel.

With chairs Lee Ramer and Tim Disney, and honorary chairs Jane and Michael Eisner, chief executive of the Walt Disney Co., the Valencia-based arts institute will honor Patty and Roy E. Disney for their $5 million leadership gift toward the REDCAT Theater (Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater), which will be housed at the new Disney Hall.

Disney Hall architect Frank Gehry will also be honored.
