Heart Assn. Expects 10,000 at Its Annual Fund-Raiser on Foot

The 19th annual Heart and Sole Walk/Run will start at 8 a.m. Sunday to benefit the American Heart Assn.

Last year’s event attracted 8,500 participants who raised $385,000 through sponsorships, including The Times’ Orange County edition. This year, the American Heart Assn. expects 10,000 participants and hopes to raise $560,000.

The event includes a 10K race, a 1K run for children and a 5K noncompetitive walk. The minimum individual pledge for participants is $20.
