Compaq to Buy Micron Chips

Compaq Computer Corp. said it will buy Micron Technology Inc.’s memory chips during the next five years in a multibillion-dollar agreement that will help it meet surging demand for its personal computers. The companies didn’t disclose the terms of the agreement, under which Micron will become Compaq’s single largest memory supplier. Micron closed unchanged at $9.81 on Nasdaq.
