Interlink Electronics Revenues Jump 38%

Interlink Electronics in Camarillo said that revenues for the third quarter ended Sept. 30 reached $7.2 million, a 38% jump over last year and a 4% increase over the second quarter.

The company also returned to profitability, showing net income of $546,000 or 8 cents per diluted share, compared with a loss of $136,000 or 3 cents per diluted share in the same quarter of last year.

“The business communications market continues to drive the company’s revenues, and our year-to-date growth of 31% mirrors the industry,” said E. Michael Thoben, chairman, CEO and president. “Another notable accomplishment was the more than threefold improvement of our operating income over last year. Clearly, this speaks to our manufacturing efficiency.”

Interlink products include interactive remote controls for business communications and home entertainment markets, signature pads for electronic transactions and e-commerce and integrated computer pointing devices. Its manufacturing partners include Sony, IBM, Microsoft, NEC, Sharp, Toshiba, InFocus Systems and Mitsubishi.

The company maintains offices in Camarillo and Tokyo.
