No. 6 Edison (5-2, 0-2) vs. Esperanza (4-3, 1-1)

Share

7 TONIGHT VALENCIA HIGH

Darryl Poston is second in the county in rushing (1,249 yards) and first in touchdowns (21), and will be the focus of Esperanza’s defense. Edison has lost two in a row, but offense isn’t the problem. The Chargers, who began the season with a young squad, have lost three starters, two of them seniors, on the defensive line in recent weeks. The resulting inconsistency is why Edison’s 36 points and 500 yards in offense last week against No. 1 Los Alamitos weren’t enough. With Tim Sonuyi (broken wrist) coming off his second full game, Esperanza has a second threat to complement receiver Ryan Murray.
