* American Water Works Co. agreed to buy SJW Corp., the parent of San Jose Water Co., for $128 a share in cash, or $745 million. Voorhees, N.J.-based American Water Works also will assume $90 million in debt in the deal. SJW shares rose $11.25 to close at $117.25 on the American Stock Exchange. San Jose Water Co. provides water to about 1 million people in San Jose and nearby communities.
