DINNER AND SELICHOT: In observance of Selichot, which marks the beginning of Jewish High Holy Days, a dinner and dessert social will be held Saturday at 7 and 9 p.m. at Kol Tikvah Temple, 20400 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills. ANNUAL SELICHOT: Beth Knesset Bamidbar will host its annual Selichot services in which Rabbi Alan Henkin and congregants will present Hebrew and Yiddish poetry in translation, dealing with such High Holy Days themes as sin, repentance and forgiveness, Saturday from 8 to 11:30 p.m. at the synagogue, 1611 E. HIGH HOLY DAYS SERVICES: Chabad of the Conejo will hold free High Holy Days services at three locations. Rabbi Steven Tucker will lead a discussion following the film on the tension between the sacred and the secular portrayed in the movie.
