Twenty-two Orange County firms have made accounting and consulting firm Deloitte & Touche LLP’s list of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in a two-county region.

Four Orange County firms placed in the Top 10. Broadcom Corp., an Irvine-based maker of semiconductors for high-speed communications, ranked second with revenue growth of nearly 5,480% over the past five years. SRS Labs Inc. of Santa Ana came in third, with 4,417% growth; Lake Forest-based iBaset placed sixth, with 2,001% growth and I/O Magic in Irvine was 10th, with 1,446% growth.

Neurocrine Biosciences in San Diego headed the survey, logging revenue increases of 9,925% over five years.

Dubbed the 1999 Orange Coast Technology Fast 50, the list ranks tech firms in Orange and San Diego counties. To be considered, companies must produce a technology, manufacture a technology-related product or be technology-intensive, among other things. The firms also must have been in business for at least five years and generated revenues of at least $50,000 in 1994.
