Inktomi to Purchase WebSpective Software

Inktomi Corp. agreed to buy closely held WebSpective Software for about $106 million in stock in a move to improve its Traffic Server software, a network-caching product that lets companies store data and speed the movement of information on the Internet. Inktomi shares closed down 78 cents at $128.63 on Nasdaq.
