Time for Carl’s to Clean Up Its Act?

CKE has decided to sell restaurants in an effort to return to financial stability [“CKE to Sell at Least 350 Carl’s Jr., Hardee’s Eateries,” Sept. 10].
Has the disgusting Carl’s TV ad campaign--the one that celebrates the catsup-dripping sandwich--nothing to do with this sudden failure? Maybe it really doesn’t, but I know that since this ugly campaign began, my three grown children and I have made it a point not to eat at Carl’s outlets, which obviously pander to adolescents.

I see that Carl’s Jr. has suffered a 54% profit decline in its second quarter. Perhaps it’s due to their obnoxious advertising campaign. I know I’ve quit patronizing their restaurants.
