FOCUS: ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY NEWS : STANTON

A consultant presented the City Council with plans for upgrading the city’s aging residential and commercial areas Tuesday night. The redevelopment plan calls for helping residents invest in the maintenance and improvement of their homes and properties.

City Manager Terry Matz said that about half of Stanton is residential, with much of the housing 40 to 50 years old and in need of repairs. Funding for the project would come from an increased tax base due to increased property values. Before its implementation, the city intends to get feedback from residents. The City Council will then decide whether it wants to approve the plan.
