L.A. County Fair Highlights

Today is the last day of the 77th annual Los Angeles County Fair at the Fairplex, two blocks north of the San Bernardino Freeway in Pomona. Horse races are run daily, with a first post time of 12:30 p.m. Today’s events:

* California State Championship Demolition Derby, “Pile-Up in Pomona.” *

General admission to most grandstand shows is free with fair admission, but reserved grandstand, box and stage-area seats are available at all Ticketmaster locations or by phone at (213) 480-3232, (714) 740-2000 or (805) 583-8700.

* Cat in the Hat breakfast, America’s Kids, 10 a.m.; bluegrass band competition, Heritage Farm, noon to 4 p.m.; Mexican food contest, Creative Living, 1 p.m.; great mouse trap car contest, Education Expo, 2 p.m.; wool auction, Ring 2, 6 p.m.

Fair Hours: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Admission: General adult, $10; over 60, $7; children 6-12 years, $5; children 5 and under, free.

Parking: General, $5; preferred, $8; premium preferred (hotel lot only) $10; valet, $15.
