The City Council will decide tonight whether to submit a project application to the Orange County Transportation Authority to receive funds for improvements on three projects.

The projects did not receive funding through the seven-year capital improvement plan, City Manager Robert Dominguez said, because there were not enough funds.

Under the federal Regional Surface Transportation Program, one multimillion-dollar project would construct Lexington Drive from Katella Avenue to Cerritos Avenue and connect to the existing Denni Street in Cypress. Currently, that part of the road is not accessible by car.

The other two projects would include street improvements for Los Alamitos Boulevard from Bradbury Road to Cerritos Avenue and Bloomfield Street from the railroad right of way to the northern city limits.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers, 3191 Katella Ave.
