A Caring Philharmonic

Share

Recently, when my husband, Martin, three friends and I were attending an L.A. Philharmonic concert, my husband collapsed during the pre-concert lecture. The ushers immediately called the attendant nurse and 911 and cleared four rows of chairs to facilitate the paramedics’ needs. While we were in the emergency room at Good Samaritan, the manager called, on behalf of our friends, to inquire about my husband. In addition, after the concert, he called a taxi for them.

I wrote a thank-you letter to the Philharmonic for their kindness. Several days later we received a call asking how Martin was doing and inviting us to select another concert as a makeup.

Not only does the Philharmonic provide wonderful music programs, but they have a staff of caring and efficient people who reacted superbly in a crisis.
