Power Outage Affects 3,500 Customers
About 3,500 residents in the Channel Islands Harbor and Port Hueneme area were without power Saturday morning, officials said.
The outage was reported about 7:45 a.m., affecting customers south of Hemlock Street, north of Sea Spray Way in Port Hueneme, west of 5th Street and east of Harbor Boulevard.
The outage was caused by an equipment failure, Southern California Edison spokesman Ernie Villegas said.
Power was restored to about half the customers, including the Channel Islands Harbor Patrol office, within 45 minutes, Villegas said.
But the rest were without electricity until 11 a.m., he said.
