Belmont Site

I agree with Frank del Olmo’s March 26 commentary regarding the Belmont school site.

There seems to be something strange going on with the idea that it will not be safe to have a high school on this property, when the property is surrounded by buildings and people’s activities going on.

I have yet to read in The Times a good reason why the property should not be used for a high school. I am sure it was no secret to the LAUSD that this was an abandoned oil field, of which there are many in Los Angeles and many of them in residential areas today.
