When the exclusive Peninsula Beverly Hills decided to replace its bar and “Living Room”server uniforms, the hotel could have just opened a catalog. Instead, it enlisted Los Angeles designer Richard Tyler.

* Tailored by Simon Jones, Richard Tyler special projects coordinator, exclusively for the Peninsula.

* Individual patterns are maintained in the archive at Tyler Trafficante Studio in Monterey Park, along with ones for Pierce Brosnan, Ozzy Osbourne and Faith Hill.

* Blouses are French iridescent silk taffeta; bronze for the bar and sky blue for the Living Room.

* Each blouse features one chest pocket on right side, French seams and 11 shell buttons from the Philippines--seven on the face and two on each French cuff.

* Skirts are cotton and wool blend (and Lycra, in the Living Room), lined with silk georgette.

* Slits on left front side of skirt customized to each server’s personal preference.

* Fabric swatch and extra buttons (a Tyler couture standard) included with each garment.

* Uniforms dry-cleaned by hotel after each wearing.

* Average uniform size 6.

* Pewter martini glass cuff links on order to accessorize.
