Nichols Appeals Conviction in Okla. Bombing
Terry L. Nichols on Tuesday appealed his conspiracy conviction in the Oklahoma City bombing, claiming he was unfairly denied a new trial.
Defense attorney Susan L. Foreman argued that the District Court erred in September when it denied Nichols’ motion for a new trial based on what the defense said was the prosecution’s failure to disclose evidence.
The brief was filed in the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Nichols was convicted in 1997 of conspiracy and involuntary manslaughter in the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building that killed 168 people. He is serving a life term.
Nichols’ former Army buddy, Timothy J. McVeigh, was separately convicted of murder and weapon counts and sentenced to die.
