Bergen Drug Contract Extended Five Years

A unit of Orange-based Bergen Brunswig Corp. said Wednesday it has five-year contract extension to provide pharmaceuticals to all Defense Department hospitals and bases in the Southwest region, which includes Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

The contract is expected to generate about $560 million, according to the subsidiary, Bergen Brunswig Drug Co., which also is the prime vendor for three other Defense Department regions.
