Sanwa’s L.A. Chief to Lead Retail Banking in Tokyo

Tom Takakura, president and chief executive of Los Angeles-based Sanwa Bank California, has returned to Japan to assume the top position of the retail banking group of the bank’s parent, Sanwa Bank Ltd., in Tokyo. Ryosuke Tamakoshi, currently a senior executive officer in charge of the Global Finance & Investment Banking Division and a 30-year Sanwa veteran, has been named to succeed Takakura.

Don Stults, Iwerks Entertainment Inc.’s senior vice president of operations, has been promoted to chief operating officer of the Burbank-based maker of film-based high-tech entertainment systems. He will be responsible for coordinating all internal management needs for the company, overseeing the day-to-day business operations of the sales, operations, film distribution, touring, and owned and operated divisions.

Julie Blake has been appointed senior vice president, creative affairs, at Jim Henson Television in Los Angeles. She will oversee all aspects of prime-time programming. Blake is formerly of Pearson Television in L.A., where she developed sitcoms for the network and cable markets.

Intertainer Inc., a Culver City-based entertainment-oriented broadband network, has promoted Steve Schein to senior vice president of corporate development and strategic planning. He will oversee all aspects of corporate development.

Career services firm Lee Hecht Harrison has promoted Sue Tucker to vice president and director of professional services in its Los Angeles office.

Roland Poindexter, former vice president and head of programming at Fox Kids Network, has been tapped as vice president of development at Eruptor.com, a Marina del Rey-based entertainment Web site that specializes in two- and three-dimensional shows and animation programming. The company also named Adam Langsbard, former director of marketing at Sony Pictures Consumer Products, as vice president of e-commerce.

Princess Cruises, the Los Angeles-based cruise ship operator, named three new executives, all new positions, as part of its spinoff from parent Peninsular & Oriental this fall. Dean Brown has been tapped as executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer service. Alan Buckelew has been named executive vice president of corporate services and chief information officer. And Brian Langston-Carter has been named executive vice president of fleet operations.
