Teachers

We read about the enormous teacher shortage. Then we read that teachers don’t know how to do their jobs. Kids can’t read--can’t do anything because the teacher isn’t any good. Parents have abdicated their jobs. It seems to me that all this demeaning of the noble work these people are doing is counterproductive. Why would anyone want to go into teaching with low pay, no respect and all that responsibility?
