The City Council on Tuesday will consider approval of a $650,000 contract with ISE Research Inc. to design, engineer, manufacture and deliver two electric trams for the Anaheim Convention Center. The council will also accept a $141,193 grant for construction of the electric tram system.

Operating solely on electric power, the tram system will be the first of its kind in the nation. The trams will connect the Convention Center’s multiple exhibit halls and parking facilities and provide access to the pedestrian crossing to Disney’s California Adventure, expected to open in January. Each tram will seat 70 passengers.
