Vitesse Semiconductor Acquires Orologic Inc.

Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. in Camarillo says it has acquired Orologic Inc. for $450 million in common stock.

Orologic, founded in October 1997, is a semiconductor company with products that perform traffic and congestion management functions for bank ATMs and Internet users.

Lou Tomasetta, Vitesse president and CEO, said the purchase will allow Vitesse to offer “the most complete and comprehensive chip sets for driving the next-generation Internet.”
