From Times Wire Reports

A small Philadelphia museum unsealed a collection of Greta Garbo’s personal letters in hopes of determining whether the legendary Hollywood siren was a lesbian. On the 10th anniversary of the Swedish-born actress’ death, a group of Garbo heirs, museum curators, trustees and researchers at the Rosenbach Museum & Library opened a box that had protected the letters from public view for 40 years. Inside, museum officials said, lay 55 letters from Garbo to longtime lesbian friend Mercedes de Acosta. Contents of the letters, plus 17 cards and 15 telegrams, all written by Garbo from 1931 to 1959, will not be disclosed to the media until Monday.
