2 Men Suspected of Illegal Sign Postings
Two men have been charged with 52 criminal counts for allegedly posting illegal signs promoting a computer show in the San Fernando Valley, authorities said Wednesday.
Robert Joel Kushner, 50, of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Daniel Lynn Wilkins, 30, of Mesquite, Nev., are accused of displaying the signs on private and public property, prohibited by the city, and failing to remove them under orders by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned May 17 in Van Nuys Superior Court.
Inspectors began their investigation in 1997 after noticing numerous signs scattered throughout the Valley that advertised computer shows, said Deputy City Atty. Don Cocek.
Investigators contacted the show promoters on several occasions over the past two years, but the promoters did not comply with the orders, Cocek said.
