Share

Five local funeral homes will take part Wednesday in the Hospice Foundation’s seventh annual national bereavement teleconference, joining 2,400 organizations in the United States and Canada.

This year’s teleconference theme, “Living With Grief: Children, Adolescents and Loss,” will be hosted by ABC-TV correspondent Cokie Roberts along with a panel of experts. The program will focus on assisting young people facing difficult issues involving loss, such as death, serious illness, divorce and traumatic incidents.

Participants include Pierce Bros.-Griffin Mortuary of Thousand Oaks and Camarillo, Pierce Bros. Stetler Mortuary in Santa Paula, James A. Reardon Mortuary in Oxnard and the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. The conference is also expected to draw local leaders involved with or interested in assisting families and children with grief issues.
